The Ex-Presidents Challenge!
Just a little fun in 2024 hosted by several of the Ex-Presidents of the Las Aranas Spinning and Weaving Guild. The rules are simple. Create something with a guild-related skill, i.e. spinning, weaving, tapestry, dyeing, felting, etc., using the photo (click here to see the photo) as your inspiration. Final products are due at the July 2024 meeting or sooner. Display options will be announced at a later date.

Natural Dye Study Group
The purpose of the newly formed Natural Dye Study Group is to promote Guild member use of natural dyes in their fiber arts endeavors. The Study Group will increase knowledge, exchange ideas and practices on an ongoing basis. Read your current newsletter for information about the study group meetings.

Special interest groupsSwatch Swap Group
The Swatch Swap Group is made up of weavers who select a weave structure and then each person weaves a swatch of this structure for each of the members. This group contains beginners through advanced weavers. This is a learning group and each person determines the degree of difficulty for their swatches. The Las Arañas Online Spinning Group meets the first and third Saturday of the month at 10:00am. Zoom information will be sent out to the entire guild via email. This is a working group so bring whatever you are working on and participate in the camaraderie of fiber friends. Rigid Heddle Group

Open Space Visitors Center (OSVC), 6500 Coors Blvd NW The Tapestry Artists of Las Arañas (TALA) meet on the first Wednesday of the even numbered months, February, April, June, August, October and December. The meeting is held from 2:00pm to 4:30pm at the Open Space Visitors Center (OSVC), 6500 Coors Blvd. NW. It is a hybrid meeting with a zoom link available. We will be talking all things tapestry, so bring your questions, ideas, and work to show. We welcome anyone interested in tapestry at any level. Contact Nancy Wohlenberg. Saturday Stitch Club

Las Arañas Spinners and Weavers Guild was formed in 1971 by a group of spinners and weavers in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Its goal is to provide education and learning experiences for its members and increase awareness of and appreciation for fiber arts throughout New Mexico and beyond.
